I Am So Coy!
October 26, 2005

Everyone has been complaining for ages how I don't care for the environment and I don't care about my employees by not giving them healthcare. With the new movie coming out in November exposing these things about me, I decided I needed to do a little damage control!

I made an announcement just this week that I'm going to do everything I can to stem this criticism. I had my good buddy, CEO Lee Scott, make the announcement on Tuesday that I vowed to cut energy usage, reduce waste, and offer lower-priced health care to my employees. Great move, and it makes me look fantastic!

Then, that damn liberal rag, the New York Times, decides to run an article about some memo they found circulating among my board of directors. They apparently found out that I had a scheme behind offering my workers lower-priced healthcare, and that now that I'm offering this healthcare, I only want healthy workers! Ok, so what's wrong with that? I'm only one of the richest companies in the world, and I want to stay that way, damn the workers!

I hate when I try to make a show of doing something good, and these "investigative" journalists find out that it's just a ploy. When will they just let me be?

Wal-Mart has been great for my family. They were good to me as a college student, with no desire to work full-time (as is the case for many employees-which you do not address), and now that I have graduated, and have a full time career elsewhere, they have continued to support me by continuing to work around my schedule while I work two jobs and continue with my Master's degree. One reason I stay there is because my benefits at Wal-Mart exceed my benefits at my salaried position with my environmental consultant firm. By bashing Wal Mart, not only do you hurt the millions who are employed there, and millions who have invested in the company, but you also hurt the multi millions who cant afford to shop at local "mom and pop" stores...JCCO98@aol.com

It's people like you that are blind to what is going on. And your going to college? Wow wake up and see what is going on to the future of our country. Or do you care?

Steve, are _your_ going to college, too? That's just not nice. If you want to make a successful point, don't be so base as to personally criticize.

JCH, do you think that Wal-Mart could provide support and benefits _without_ resorting to its unethical business practices? Wal-Mart as an entity is not intrinsically bad; what we find objection to is Wal-Mart's shoddy business practices.
Temporary workers are not addressed because, quite simply, they aren't necessary. Their future does not depend on their part-time job. If cheap temps working unnecessary jobs are used to put businesses employing full-time workers (who depend on their salary to live) out of business (which is one of Wal-Mart's practices), there is a problem.

I'll address the issue of Temp workers. At our local store wal-mart is now cutting the hours of temp employees. Many depend on their hours too. People on disability can only work a certain amount of hours and Wal-mart is making it impossible for them to get even that. They can care less if you suffer financially.

I'm a Wal-Mart assistant manager just recently promoted to Wal-Mart Co-Manager. This movie poorly depicts the standards and practices of Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

I suggest the maker of this film find something more constructive to do with his spare time....I have an opening for door greeter if he's interested.

You punk bitch.

I bet that's how you talk to your female subordinates too....huh, Carlos?

If Wal-Mart hires management that would even utter the words "You Punk Bitch" you can see why Wal-Mart is having problems. Wal-mart needs to spend some of its millions on teaching Managers manners.
